She entered Vanderbilt University on an Engineering track then defected to one of those build-your-own major programs that mixed art history, studio art, and philosophy. She went on to get a Ph.D. in Art History at the University of Chicago (2008), focusing on German Art and Design of the Jugendstil through Bauhaus eras. During that time she honored with a Fulbright to Germany, as well as other grants, and joined the board of the legendary Chicago feminist coop gallery Artemisa. She has taught in various capacities at the University of Chicago, The School of the Art Institute, and Northwestern.
She also does occasional lectures in the history of design, most recently for the Farnsworth House. At present she is relaunching an artistic portfolio.
